New Women's Bible Study Planned for Fall

beginning September 8th - December 8th from 10:30-12:30 in room 109.
We
will study Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby and
Claude King. While many people ask God to bless their plans,
Experiencing God helps lead believers into a deeper love relationship,
teaching them to pray to and hear from God, and to join with God in
accomplishing what He purposes to do.
Please join us for this powerful, life-changing study. Contact
Amanda Nicholls at 214-492-0432 or Amanda@2amps.com to reserve your
workbook for $15. Childcare will be provided.
Sharing the bounty
The church office often experiences hungry families coming to the
church that do not have means to prepare and cook food, and may be in
need of other necessities. Often, these folks are transient and are
unable to obtain help in other places. Our stock of food is in need of
replenishment. We do not want to send someone who comes into our church
hungry away from us hungry. Therefore, we are again assembling boxes of
food that can be given to families that are in need. We ask your help in
this important ministry. Items that are needed are: (pop top lids are an
asset but not a necessity.) The highlighted items are the items that we
need for every box and currently are totally out of stock. If you can
help provide any of these items, please drop them off in the church
office.
The staff thanks you for your help and consideration.

Lord's Acre will be ready for harvesting on Saturday, October 16.
We are planting a new crop and plowing in some new directions. We still
need donations of items, services, and small crafts to be sold in the
Market Place but we are adding a new component called "Sign and Go
Socials". We are looking for people willing to host themed parties that
couples or individuals can sign up to attend. These can be anything from
a swim party to a fancy sit down party to a progressive dinner. They can
also be for children or youth. You are only limited by your own
imagination.

Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Group meets at PPUMC
One of the most difficult challenges to individuals and families
is coping with dementias like Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's Disease
and dementia create stresses for families like no other crisis. As life
expectancy and the incidence of dementias increase, more and more
families must address the changes that will take place. Families and
caregivers meet monthly, at 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month
in room 108, and develop a support system that will help maintain their
own health and well being, and optimal care for the person with
dementia. Led by Marty Graham, R.N., trained as an Alzheimer's
Association Support Group Facilitator, we have benefit of the many
resources of the Alzheimer's Association. For more information call
Marty Graham at 972-252-8241 or email at m.s.graham@mindspring.com.
